Garden Renovation
Bringing a tired garden back to life, without starting again from nothing.
Many gardens don't need tearing out. They need the overgrown parts cut back, the borders re-thought and replanted, the lawn brought back and the edges made crisp again.
We call this soft renovation: keeping what is good about a garden and refreshing the rest, rather than ripping it out and rebuilding. It works with your existing layout, so the garden feels cared for and settled again.
Scope
What a renovation covers.
- 01
Border renovation
Clearing tired or overgrown borders, lifting and dividing what is worth keeping, and replanting with structure and colour.
- 02
Reshaping beds and edges
New lines for beds and lawns so the garden reads clearly again.
- 03
Lawn restoration
Reviving worn or patchy lawns, or reshaping them to suit the garden.
- 04
Pruning and shaping
Bringing shrubs, climbers and hedges back into shape.
- 05
Soil and mulch
Improving the soil and mulching beds so new planting gets a good start.
Especially good for
- Gardens that have been left for a season or two
- New homeowners inheriting someone else's garden
- Borders that have lost their shape
- Getting a garden ready to enjoy, or to sell
Questions
About garden renovation.
How is this different from garden design?
Renovation works with the garden you have: refreshing planting and shape rather than drawing up a new layout. If a garden needs more than that, we will say so.
Can you keep it looking good afterwards?
Yes. Many renovation clients move on to regular maintenance so the garden keeps improving.
